Raising the Next Generation of Women Leaders

Who We Are

Girls Can Lead (GCL) was established in 2016 to address the lack of awareness and engagement among young women in political and civic spaces.
What began as an initiative to promote political participation has since grown into a broader movement to empower young women to become active, confident, and capable leaders within their communities. Today, GCL’s work extends beyond political awareness to encompass leadership development and the advancement of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) among youth and wider society across Southeast Asia.

As the pioneering young women’s network in Indonesia, GCL focuses on building sustainable leadership capacity rather than providing short-term aid or reactive interventions. Through free leadership training programs and networking platforms, we equip young women—particularly those from marginalized backgrounds—with the skills and confidence to lead. We also provide consultation and training for organizations committed to creating more equitable, inclusive, and youth-responsive environments.

Our Vision
